“The early bird gets the first worm, but the wisest bird gets the fastest one.”

Well, well… Not even one week until Christmas! I cannot believe it how time flew by…. And to be honest I still am focussing on exams and stuff that I can’t wait for Christma to arrive when the stress finally slows down 🙂 Looking forward to wear pretty dresses and feel a bit more sparkly. As I spent most of the days at home the only clothes I wear are pants and shirts… just cosy, though 😛 What I noticed too lately is the fact, that I prefer wearing older pieces long forgotten in my wardrobe… And sometimes it’s so nice to combine them again. And so it happened with the dress and shoes… Long time stored in my wardrobe they found their revival in a new-old outfit 🙂
To power through the last week before Christmas I’d like to share with you my tips to work smart like a fox:
So much easier said than done, right? I know I’m guilty of planning, feeling really proud of myself, and then getting way behind immediately. But with all the upcoming Shopping tasks and organizational things it literally helps me to make lists. Not only to be efficient and less stressed when in the overcrowded shops but also to keep your head free for other things (like me to study).
TAKE A BREAK
Probably the most important. Breaks can vary from person to person, and day to day. Some people might need a quick 5 minute coffee run, whilst others feel happier and ready to tackle some work with renewed energy after taking an hour to eat a delicious lunch whilst reading a book, or taking a walk outside and breathe in some fresh air.. Whatever it is, we are all designed to need “me time”, and should make sure we get enough of it. So take a step back from the desk, stretch out, snack, and get your face in the fresh air. You’ll likely be more alert, positive, & feel more creative.
But be realistic. I get that avoiding screens isn’t easy for the majority of us who work behind one. You know what is realistic though? Small changes, like waking up and not grabbing your phone immediately to see what happened overnight on Instagram. And at night before closing your eyes, read a book or have a conversation instead of scrolling through social media. You’re not missing anything, promise. And your brain will thank you for the extra downtime. (This was mainly the reason for my Social Media absence too, I cannot stress how beneficial it is!)

“You have to be like a lion and a fox. The fox is smart enough to recognize traps, and the lion is strong enough to scare away the wolves. Be like a lion and a fox, and no one will ever beat you” ― Carlo Gambino
